Today is the 50th birthday of the legendary British band “The Beatles”, but also the 50th anniversary of NASA and the 40th of the song composed by John Lennon “Across the Universe”.
In 1h, at 1am CET (5pm EST), this song from The Beatles will be sent to deep space using radiotelescopes, in direction towards the Polaris star, which is 431 year-light from the Earth.
Here included the lyrics of this song. Publishing this article in cyberspace, is my way to contribute to this NASA initiative.
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,
Possessing and caressing me.
Jai guru deiva ohm
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world.
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
That call me on and on across the universe,
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they
Tumble blindly as they make their way
Across the universe
Jai guru deiva ohm
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world.
Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing
Through my open views inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
Million suns, and calls me on and on
Across the universe
Jai guru deiva ohm
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Jai guru deiva ohm
